PINK SATURDAY NUMBER 12

During our recent cruise around the Mediterranean I was always on the look out for something pink.

I have quite a collection so let us start with some beautiful glass found in Gibraltar. We visited the glass making factory & I fell in love with several pieces but they were all very expensive.

This week I will show you Ruby glass, also known as cranberry glass. It is a rich, deep red colour which has a history and folklore of its own. The colour is achieved by adding gold to the ingredients that make crystal. The Romans first made gold ruby but the secret was lost with the demise of the Roman Empire. Rediscovered in the 17th century in Bohemia, it was some years before the secret became widely known. Cranberry glass became particularly popular during the Victorian period and is now very popular with collectors.

  7. Sorry I'm a little late. Seems like when the sun is out I feel a desperate need to go outside and run errands or just life my face to the heavens and soak in the last rays before winter hits my neck of the woods.

Thanks so much for coming by, and for visiting 2 of my blogs. =0))

Yes, the painting is lovely, but no, I did not paint it.

I'm glad you enjoyed my "morning walks with God" post.

I so enjoy our time together, and all that He shows me and I am learning from Him.
Growing in fairth is a life long process, and sometimes i feel i take 1 step forward, and 2 steps back. But, He is always there with me and for me. I can count on Him no matter what.

How wonderful to be loved that much.

    Blessings new friend,
