This striking deep blue flower was climbing up walls and on other plants everywhere in the Costa Del Sol.
A type of bindweed is my guess – or CONVOLVULUS. We have it in the UK but I have only seen it with white flowers.
Can be a nuisance as it is a vigorous grower and can choke other plants.
The buds are a pretty shade of pink.
Here is another type of Angel Trumpet. Not as intricate as the previous one I posted but lovely in it’s simplicity.
Sadly, most of the blooms were past their best. Except for this one.
I just love bouganvilli - saw it in many different colours.
Finally, for this week, a honeysuckle dripping with blooms and filling the air with it’s powerful scent.

Beautiful flowers, the bougainvillea is my favorite. Love all the pretty colors.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots!
ReplyDeleteThe arm and hand give a nice perspective of just how big the Trumpet bloom is.
The pergola of bouganvilla must be lovely to see in person. I'm struck by all those colors - lovely!

Glorious colours! Our honeysuckles are just beginning to flower - I love that sweet, sweet scent.
ReplyDeleteHi JJ, fantastic photos of all these gorgeous flowers. I have honeysuckle in my garden and I love its perfume, especially when on a warm night. The Angel Trumpet I discovered on last year's visit to Canada and since through TF, thanks to great shots like yours.
ReplyDeleteHi Jean, enjoying your stories from Spain - glad you made it there and am wondering if you're home yet. I'd better have a talk with Mike about his wild night - these guys never grow up do they????
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments on my photos from the safari - I'm pleased with them and of course will be posting more as I took over 2000! What an awesome time - best trip of my entire life.
Love and hugs - Mary.
P.S. They're Morning Glories - I throw the seeds around wherever they can climb during Summer. I have the yellow Angel Trumpets too - had pink but they didn't survive the Winter.
