As she knelt down to pick the last of the primroses she was enveloped in the heady scent of bluebells coming through the wood. Standing up she carefully placed the flowers in her basket and skipped towards the blue carpet stretching ahead. The warmth of the sun filtered through the branches and birds sang to each other high in the trees. What a perfect day.
Until a loud noise broke the spell. She opened her eyes to see the traffic thundering down the motorway passed her window.
It’s time for your medicine she heard the nurse shout in her ear.

100 word story challenge
He was home alone. The others had gone but despite his mother calling him he did not want to get up. He rubbed his eyes and yawned.
He admitted to himself that he was a bit scared. Anyone would be wouldn’t they?
Slowly he made his way to the open door and, looking out, he knew it was time. His little legs shook, could he do this?
Opening his wings and closing his eyes he flew, felt the breeze brush his feathers and the sun on his back and he heard his mother shout- well done Robin. Good boy!
Baby Robins just fledged.
