100 word story challenge 2

As she knelt down to pick the last of the primroses she was enveloped in the heady scent of bluebells coming through the wood. Standing up she carefully placed the flowers in her basket and skipped towards the blue carpet stretching ahead. The warmth of the sun filtered through the branches and birds sang to each other high in the trees. What a perfect day.
Until a loud noise broke the spell. She opened her eyes to see the traffic thundering down the motorway passed her window.
It’s time for your medicine she heard the nurse shout in her ear.

  1. I'm dreading those days!!! Off to smell my bluebells while I can!

We had no real damage thank goodness, but so many did - deaths, injuries, loss of homes and businesses. I was a scary afternoon on Sat., and then all over so quickly as the tornado blasted through town leaving so much devastation in its wake.

Will you be home when we visit? Hope so.
    Hugs Mary

  2. Hi JJ, your word challenges are always so good and very enjoyable to read. I love your header photo of the rose by the way.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're feeling much better this week. By the way, I found a lady who paints scenes of Marldon, and I bought a couple of her prints. One I picked up today as I had it framed, and I am posting it tomorrow if you would like to stop by and take a look. Enjoy your week.
