Pink Saturday 4 LET’S ROCK, EVERYBODY LET’S ROCK

hello-pink-glitter

imageHow cute is this? Yes, I have at last embraced the portable music fad but, with a very sensible purpose – honest.

It occurred to me one morning whilst laying in bed checking my e-mails(!) that if I heard any music with a strong beat – especially Rock & Roll tunes from the 1950’s I found it impossible to keep still. I wanted to take to the floor and jive away as I used to when I was in my teens.

Sadly, not only would this look ridiculous I would probably collapse after the first verse.

BUT ……………………………….

I could listen to this music secretly on an IPod and I would then be able to dance around the house to Jailhouse Rock or Twist & Shout without attracting the attention of the white coat brigade and I might even loose a couple of ounces.

This is still very much a work in progress though. It took me 15 minutes to open the box which was covered in a type of cling film which was virtually invisible.

Then I read the instructions which, for some unknown reason are as minute as the IPod itself. Glasses on; glasses off – which was easier?

Eventually plugged this dear little pink thing into my computer, an orange light flashed on & off which I assumed meant it was charging and after several hours the light turned green. Mission accomplished I guessed.

Next step to find the music I want & transfer it to this teeny weeny device. To think we thought transistor radios were small!

That is enough technology for one day – I will let you know when I am up and (Running) – dancing.

  4. Hello JJ - I was pleased to see you had popped in to my blog so thought I would come over to see you. I'm very impressed you have an ipod. I may succumb next time I visit family in Australia - it would be invaluable on the long flight.

Have had a quick look back at your previous posts - you have a beautiful little grand-daughter and I think your pictures are wonderful - clever lady. A x

  8. That was so funny, but so true too. I tried to put crackle paint onto something this week, I couldn't read the instructions, way too small. Glasses on, glasses off, we have lots in common and I have no problem relating!!! Happy Pink Saturday, Char

  11. Lovely post and the IPod. Dancing is a great way to exercise and when I come to think of it, I used to go dancing with my friends so many years ago, I was as skinny as a rail. Hmmmmmm............ lol. Maybe I ought to buy myself an IPod!

  12. Hi Jean - we are in Boise, Idaho tonight. 100 degrees today and still red hot as we ate dinner at a sidewalk cafe. Leave for Salt Lake City in the morning and fly home Thursday. It's been a tough road trip since leaving Calif., you know Bob, we have to keep going every day!! Have seen beautiful scenery though and Jasmin has enjoyed most of it. You know how kids are, get a bit bored looking at so many mountains day after day!

Sorry the Summer hasn't panned out as promised there - really thought you would be at the hut every day!

    More later.
    Hugs - Mary.
